LEXINGTON, KY AND COLUMBUS, OHIO (Sept. 19, 2022) — The American Volleyball Coaches Association is excited to announce a new partnership with Sports Imports to expand the association’s successful Coaches 4 Coaches program.

The program, which offers scholarship funds to a group of up-and-coming volleyball coaches that allow them to attend their first AVCA Convention, will now include a range of new learning components funded by Sports Imports, which is a long-time AVCA Corporate Partner.

“The Sports Imports team values the investment Coaches 4 Coaches is making in engaging and providing educational and mentorship opportunities for the next generation of volleyball coaches,” said Sports Imports CEO Cyndie Dunlap. “We are excited to partner with such a worthy program.”

The new initiative takes the Coaches 4 Coaches program beyond attendance at the AVCA Convention by adding continuing education opportunities from True North Sports that further holistic career development. One of the main benefits for the C4C recipients is access to a series of nine, 90-minute live sessions on Zoom from January to May 2023. During these live sessions, participants will engage with accomplished volleyball coaches from around the country to discuss coaching concepts and will learn from leaders in the profession.

Other enhancements include an individual half-hour session for C4C scholarship winners, self-paced “Managing Yourself” classes, and a career advancement toolkit.

“Coaches 4 Coaches has been helping to open the door of opportunity for aspiring volleyball coaches for 13 years,” said Jaime Gordon, Director of Athletics and Head Volleyball Coach at Morehead State University. “The generosity and commitment of those in our profession has made it possible to award scholarships to 150 exceptional coaches to attend the AVCA Convention. Our partnership with Sports Imports—and their commitment to volleyball—is making it possible for us to expand the educational benefits of Coaches 4 Coaches in impactful ways.”

In addition to being open to the Coaches 4 Coaches group, AVCA Diversity Award recipients will have the opportunity to engage in this expanded programming as well.
